Architects have gotten very adventurous in their designs over the last few years, and increasingly frequently, we are being called in to assist with window dressing solutions for awkward window shapes.
Very large windows, double height glass, massive bifold doors, sneaky triangular windows….all becoming increasingly common in new build homes. It’s absolutely wonderful to have large expanses of glass, and light flooding into your home…..but all too often it can cause a headache in trying to find window dressing solutions that will offer privacy, and darkness.
Homestyle work with all the available types of blinds, made bespoke for your window and expertly fitted. Our surveyor Peter can offer advice on what options are available to suit your awkward window.
Plantation shutters are a great solution, as they can be make to a variety of bespoke shapes, like triangular, circular and eyebrow.
Pleated blinds are worth a look if you have shaped windows, or very large windows, as they can be made very large (3.6m wide as a single rectangular blind). Pleated blinds are available in hundreds of colours, and can be blackout if needed. Various fitting systems,( eg INTU‘s, which clip directly to the glass) can offer no-drill options that will even work on most bifold doors.
Talking of bifold doors, one of the most popular options we are seeing for those recently is to put on large motorised roller blinds. They go big (circa 3m per blind), look flash (‘cos of the sexy motor!), and are a really cost effective solution.
Made to measure blinds will often be the necessary go to also if your window is especially high, as you may need to have the blind manufactured with extra long controls.
We have an awesome showroom in Burgess Hill, just by the station, where you can come for expert advice, to see hundreds of fabric samples, and view loads of different window dressing options.
